Laptop Donation / Wiping and Linux Demo Day
The Rotary Club of Kelowna Ogopogo and St Michael and All Angels Cathedral are joining forces to host a Laptop Donation and Demo Day on Saturday April 11 from 10am – Noon.
The event invites community members to clear our their drawers and closets of unused tech to help those in need across the Okanagan.

What: Laptop Donation and Data Wiping Event
When: Saturday, April 10 | 10:00AM – 12:00PM
Where: St Michael and All Angels Cathedral. 608 Sutherland Ave, Kelowna
Action: Bring any PC or Mac laptop (with power cord, 2001 or newer) that still powers on
Event Description:
1) if you have an old laptop that works but that you are no longer using, bring it along to donate for a good cause! These will be securely wiped clean of any existing data (there will be a release waiver to sign), restored to functionality using the Linux operating system (secure and fast), and gifted to people in our community in need of a working computer. Partners on distribution include Turning Points Collaborative Society, St Michael’s Cathedral, and the Seniors Outreach Centre. There is a team of people, both from Rotary and the Cathedral, who will work together on this project.
2) Join us for Coffee and Tech! Donors are encouraged to stick around to enjoy a coffee and take in an introduction to Linux and learn more about using the operating system to keep your current laptop running for years to come!
